During this operation they arrested seven men for various crimes including assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, common assault and common robbery.
Ramphora says while arresting these men, they received a complaint of fraud.
They arrested a woman who allegedly bought furniture with her sister-in-law’s identity document (ID) by replacing the photo on the ID with her own photo.
He says the arrested woman bought furniture worth R18 000 from a furniture store in Etwatwa.
The furniture was confiscated and brought to the Springs Police Station, from where the owner of the furniture shop fetched it on today (October 6).
The woman will appear in court soon.
