Stolen truck found in Struisbult

A truck loaded with dairy products left Centurion early this morning to deliver goods in Brixton but never reached its destination.

It was found abandoned in Malgas Street, Struisbult.

Two EMPD officials from Springs were informed by a tracking company that the vehicle was in Springs and gave them the coordinates.

The officials found the truck in Struisbult.

They say it was still idling but the driver was missing and the back doors were open.

Residents say they allegedly saw a white Nissan bakkie parked next to the truck and two men loading boxes onto the bakkie before they left the scene.

Tyre marks were clearly visible from the driveway of a house opposite where the truck was found.

Captain Johannes Ramphora, Springs police spokesman, says police officials broke down the back door of the house to gain entry and searched it.

The police couldn’t find any of the stolen goods in the house, but arrested a 35-year-old women after they found Cat and dagga in her possession.

Ramphora says the truck was taken to the pounding depot in Benoni.

No comment was received from the owners of the truck at the time of going to press
