Hijacking – man held at gunpoint

Man lies on the floor while two hijackers take his car.

A brown VW Vivo was hijacked in Bakerton on Monday.

At 9pm, a man stopped in his driveway when he heard the car door opens.

Warrant Officer Amanda Greybe, spokesman for the Springs police, says the man was allegedly grabbed by his neck and pulled from his vehicle.

The armed hijacker pointed a gun at the man and ordered him to lie on the ground.

Greybe says it was then that the victim noticed a second unarmed man getting into the vehicle.

The armed hijacker got into the vehicle too and they drove off.

When the victim got up from the ground he saw the vehicle stopping on the side of the road to pick up two more accomplices.

The all drove off in his vehicle.

No shots were fired.
