Robbery victims chase after robbers

Two common robberies took place in Fourth Street, Springs central business district on last Friday.

At 7pm, a man was standing outside a tavern with his cell phone in his back pocket.

Captain Johannes Ramphora, spokesman for the Springs police, says someone grabbed the cell phone and ran away.

The victim chased the robber and caught up with him.

While they were fighting a police vehicle stopped next to them.

The police arrested the robber and took him to the Springs police cells.

The second case was at 9pm, when a man was walking in Fourth Street.

He was grabbed from behind and searched by the two robbers who took his wallet, cell phone and cash and ran away.

When he chased after them he stopped a police patrol vehicle telling them what had happened.

The police managed to arrest one robber.
