According to Springs police spokesman Captain Johannes Ramphora, the family was awakened by a knock at their shack’s door around 11pm.
He says the robbers, who claimed to be police officers, demanded that the family open the door.
“When the man of the family opened the door, a group of armed men wearing balaclavas stormed inside,” says Ramphora.
He says the robbers ran away with cell phones, cash, furniture and a car battery.
No shots were fired and no arrest has been made yet.
A case of house robbery has been opened.
