Ramphora says two men were standing outside a shop when they saw two armed robbers on last Friday.
The robbers were wearing balaclavas and ordered the two men to go inside the shop and lay down.
The victims heard a loud bang and saw members of the public running into the shop, to ask them what happened.
It was then that they noticed the ATM inside the shop was bombed.
With the two robbers still inside the shop, a shootout started between them and community members outside the shop.
Two vehicles were damaged during the shooting.
No-one was injured and the robbers escaped on foot.
