Woman sees her robber in a restaurant

Four days after a woman was robbed of her cellphone, she saw the robber having lunch at a restaurant.

She used the subway in First Avenue on September 8, from Springs Extension to go to Springs central business district.

Captain Johannes Ramphora, spokesman for the Springs police, says the woman was carrying her 18-month-old baby on her back, when an armed man approached her.

He pulled out a knife and threatened to kill her baby if she did not give him her cellphone.

Yesterday (September 11), she saw the same man eating at a restaurant in Springs.

Ramphora says she called the police, who arrested the man.

He was taken to the Springs police cells where he will stay until his first court appearance.
