The drain has been blocked since Sunday.
Riana Botha reported it on Sunday and was given a reference number, but the metro did not respond to the logged complaint.
The drain water is running down the Botha’s driveway and into the street.
Their backyard does not only smell of filthy drain water, the water is currently piling up there.
She says they cannot live like this anymore and a solution to the problem needs to be found.
According to Botha the drain overflows frequently.
It might take two weeks before it blocks up and then it will overflow again in six months time.
She says it might be the roots of the trees growing in the open field behind their house.
“Whatever the situation may be, the fact that it blocks up every now and again needs to be investigated,” she adds.
No comment was received from the metro, but we will keep you updated when we have more information or comment from the metro.
