Two women and a man were at their home in Second Avenue when the man assaulted them.
Captain Johannes Ramphora, Springs police spokesman, says one of the women is nine months pregnant.
It is believed the man assaulted both woman.
They called the police after the incident.
Ramphora says when the police arrived, they found the two badly beaten victims and called an ambulance.
They were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
According to Ramphora the reason for the assault is not yet known.
The man remands in custody in the Springs police cells and will appear in court soon.
