Three victims chase robbers in Springs

A case of common robbery was opened at the Springs Police Station on Saturday.

At 11pm, three men were standing on the corner of Second and Fourth streets, Springs central business district, and were surprised by four men armed with knives.

Captain Johannes Ramphora, spokesman for the Springs police, says the armed men took the victims’ car keys and cell phones and ran away.

The victims followed the robbers and when they caught up with them, recovered their stolen goods.

Ramphora says they contacted the Springs police who arrived shortly thereafter and arrested the men.

They appeared in Springs Regional Court on Tuesday (August 26) and the outcome of the case is not yet known.
