Your Wheels and Wings donations to benefit many

Volunteers of Springs Park Rotary Club are still busy with the daunting task of counting the food, collected from the Addie / African Reporter's Wheels and Wings Day, and sorting it into boxes for all the beneficiaries.

Judging from the sheer volume of amount of non-perishable food donated by you, the Springs community, to this family fun day, we have pronounced the day a wonderful success and thank every one of your for making the difference and allowing us to feed more people.

Euli Hiller, of Springs Park Rotary Club says the club’s volunteers having been sorting the food in the two weeks since it was collected on August 2.

These volunteers are currently busy counting the food and putting it in boxes to be distributed to beneficiaries around Springs and Kwatsaduza.

After this they will identify beneficiaries to hand over the food to.

Hiller says this packing is a huge task, as an estimated 25 000 items (including tinned food and packets of rice) were handed over to the Rotary Club to distribute.

The Addie and African Reporter will keep you updated when the food is handed out.
