Abuse-accused parents in court tomorrow

Although both will appear in the same court, it is unclear if their cases will be joined.

The parents who allegedly abused their children will both appear in the Springs Regional court tomorrow.

Although both will appear before regional magistrate Roy le Roux, it is not clear at this stage if they will appear together on the same charges.

Biko Zondo, Springs court’s senior state prosecutor says the husband was denied bail at a previous appearance and has the right to apply for bail again.

The dad’s lawyers indicated to several publications that they will apply for bail, as there are new facts to consider.

The mother was granted bail at the beginning of July.

The dad was arrested in May and his wife a month later, after their 11-year-old son went to get help from neighbours who alerted the police to the abuse taking place in their Springs home.
