Excellence breakfast at FERH

“We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit.”- Aristotle This quote became the driving force behind the newly initiated Far East Rand Hospital Excellence Breakfast.

FERH held an Excellence Breakfast to applaud their dedicated staff last week.
The staff was evaluated without warning in their different wards to check how they comply with quality assurance standards.
After being scored based on emergency readiness, cleanliness and attitude the top scores were tallied and the winners were announced at the breakfast.
The breakfast was the second of its kind since Dr Lekopane Mogaladi, hospital CEO, introduced the concept to the staff a month ago.
The awards, in collaboration with Old Mutual, are aimed at boosting staff moral and promoting excellence in service as a part of the hospital’s DNA.
Mogaladi has described the awards as a much needed initiative to boost morale and to appreciate the hard work of the staff.
“We cannot turn a blind eye to the amazing work that is done by our staff under very hard circumstances, this is just a gesture to show that we as management appreciate their efforts.” he said.
This breakfast is also an opportunity for networking and a chance for staff members to get to know each other better.
The winners are as follows:
Emergency readiness – The post natal ward took first place and the neonatal ICU ward second.
The first place for cleanliness went to the ICU and second to the labour ward.
For attitude the theatre were the winners and ward eight came second.
