House robbers bumped into victim’s car

The robbers stole jewellery and damaged her car

A case of house robbery was opened at the Springs Police Station on Sunday.

A woman was being dropped off by her friend in Selcourt when they were approached by six armed men.

They arrived at the house at 9.20pm, parked in the driveway and while still in the car, they noticed a white Mercedes Benz making a U-turn in the street.

Captain Johannes Ramphora Springs police spokesman, says the driver of the robbers’ car drove straight into the woman’s car.

The six armed robbers got out of their vehicle and approached the women who were still sitting in the car.

They ordered the victims out of the car and after taking their wristwatches as well as other jewellery, they ordered them to go into the house.

While some of the robbers pointed firearms at the two victims, the others opened cupboards in the house.

They took cell phones, laptops, a handbag, the house and car keys and left the scene.

No shots were fired and no arrests have been made.
