Learner robbed of his cell phone

A boy was robbed of his cell phone by a group of suspects

A learner was robbed of his cell phone in Bakerton on Friday afternoon.

When seeing a group of boys standing on the street corner around noon, the boy did not think that he would lose his cell phone.

Springs police spokesman Captain Johannes Ramphora says a learner at Bakerton Secondary School explained that among the six boys who were standing at the corner was one of his schoolmates.

He says the boy told the police that he walked towards the group and one of the suspects grabbed him and took his cell phone.

“All the suspects fled the scene, leaving the boy unharmed,” says Ramphora.

No arrest has been made and the police appeal for the community’s assistance in arresting the suspects.

If you know, who and where the suspects are, you should contact the Springs police on 011 365 5700/19/20.
