Ronewa Matshinyatsimbi, 23 months, went missing on December 31.
She went missing from her home early on New Year’s Eve while her mother’s partner and two other children slept in other rooms of the family home at the Dunnottar Military Base.
Her mother, Neo Nkoane, says she was in Sudan at the time of her daughter’s disappearance.
She received a phone call on December 31, informing her that a woman had stolen her child.
Arrangements were made immediately to fly her back to South Africa, and she was back in the country on January 8. Nkoane’s partner was arrested on the same day she returned home and is charged with kidnapping
“I am going through hell at the moment and just want my child back,” she says.
The man will appear in the Nigel Magistrate’s Court again on June 26.
