Hit and run leaves man with serious injuries

The police seek help with their investigation

The man involved in a hit and run accident last week, is in a serious condition.

The man crossed the street on the corner of Third Street and First Avenue, in the Springs CBD, when a vehicle hit him.

The vehicle did not stop and drove away.

A case of reckless driving and failing to stop at an accident scene was opened at the Springs Police Station.

Wilfred Kgasago, EMPD senior superintendent, says the pedestrian sustained serious injuries and was treated on the scene by paramedics and was later taken to the Far East Rand Hospital.

Captain Johannes Ramphora, Springs police spokesman, says the make of the vehicle is not known, but he appeals to the public to come forward with any information to help the police in their investigation.
