Nuffield business robbed

Security guard shot in the foot

An armed robbery case was opened at the Springs Police Station on Monday.

The security guard on duty allegedly saw six armed men entering the premises.

Captain Johannes Ramphora, Springs police spokesman, says the men ordered him not to move.

The men were  allegedly isiZulu and North Sotho speaking.

Ramphora says the victim claims he wasn’t allowed to look at them.

One of the robbers assaulted the victim and took his firearm.

“Several shots were fired and one bullet hit the victim in his right foot,” he adds.

The victim claims the robbers were disturbed and ran away.

He called for help and was later taken to a nearby hospital.

No arrests have been made.
