A wounded man was found in a ceiling of a shop last Wednesday.
A case of attempted murder was opened at the Springs Police Station.
The owner of a shop called the Springs police at 9.25pm, reporting the incident.
The wounded man was allegedly shot by the owner, but the owner of the shop denies the allegations.
Springs police spokesman, Captain Johannes Ramphora says paramedics treated the man on the scene and took him to Far East Rand Hospital.
“It is unknown who the shooter is, as the man could not speak at the time,” he adds.
The case is being investigated.
