A R10 paid for his taxi fare to Vosloorus Police Station to report the hijacking

Three hijackers gave their victim R10 for taxi fare.

On Friday the driver of a white double cab was on his way home from Middelburg, when he stopped at a robot in Welgedacht Road, Slovo Park.

With three vehicles in front of him he noticed an armed man at his window.

The man allegedly ordered him to get into the back seat of the vehicle.

It was then when he noticed another three armed met getting into the vehicle.

Springs police spokesman, Captain Johannes Ramphora, says the drove off with the victim and ordered him to cover his face with his hands.

They stopped next to the Petersfield Cemetery where the victim saw a grey VW Polo hatchback parked next to the road.

This is where the hijackers asked him to get into the Polo.

The robbers in the double cab followed the Polo to Boksburg.

They stopped and the robber driving the Polo, freed the victim, gave back his cellphone, but kept the battery.

Ramphora says the robber even gave the victim R10 for taxi fare.

The victim allegedly took a taxi to Vosloorus Police Station, where he opened a case of carjacking.

Vosloorus police officials reported the incident to the Springs police.

No arrests have been made.
