Attempted murder in Persida

Customers seem to have been robbers

An attempted murder case was opened at the Springs Police Station on Sunday.

At 12.10pm a man from Persida, claiming to be a refrigeration technician, received a phone call from one of his alleged customers.

Ramphora says the customer asked the man to wait for him with his tools, on the corner of Welgedacht and Stoffberg roads in Persida.

The customer phoned again on the man’s cell phone asking him if he was already at the agreed spot.

The victim waited for a while when a white Toyota Kombi stopped next to him.

He saw four men running towards him and he ran away.

“A shot was fired and the victim stopped,” says Ramphora.

They allegedly dragged him by his clothing towards his tools.

They took his tools and left him there.

No-one was injured.
