A man and woman were robbed and the woman raped on Friday.
The incident happened at 6.10pm, they were looking for scrap in an open field in Derley when they were approached by two men.
Captain Johannes Ramphora, Springs police spokesman, says the one robber pulled out a knife and ordered the man to give them his watch, cellphone and car keys.
During this time, the other robber took the woman to to another spot where he raped her.
Ramphora says this man came back with the woman and tied up both victims’ hands and feet before they left in their vehicle with the stolen goods.
A passer by came to their rescue and called the police.
Ramphora adds the police request the community to assist them in finding the two robbers.
