Police chase robbers

After the police chased a car they discovered it was used as a get away vehicle

The Springs police chased a vehicle with two occupants, not knowing they just robbed a house in Krugersrus.

At 8am, on Monday a domestic worker was doing the washing when two men approached her enquiring about rooms to let.

Captain Johannes Ramphora, Springs police spokesman, says the one man took out a knife and ordered her to go inside the house.

They took a TV and electrical appliances, loaded it into a Suzuki Swift motor car parked outside and left the scene.

Ramphora says a police vehicle on patrol noticed the car and started chasing it.

The robbers fled into the direction of Lindelani where they left the vehicle and ran away.

The police found the stolen goods in the car.

They took the car and the stolen goods to the Springs Police Station only to find out later a case of house robbery has been opened.

No arrests have been made.

Anyone with information to help the police in arresting the robbers, can contact the Springs police on 011 365 5700/19.
