Journalist saves poor

The case was settled out of court

The revelations of an investigative journalist caused 15 indebted people’s applications to be put under administration, to be withdrawn.

In this civil case Tony Beamish a private investigative reporter, writing for Moneyweb, alleged that the company, PI Debt Solutions and Janse vanVuuren, supplied fraudulent and incorrect information in these 15 people’s administration applications.

The case was served again before magistrate Mandla Mthombeni in Tsakane Magistrate’s Court on Thursday after it was heard for the first time on April 12.

On Thursday Beamish represented himself as a friend of the court after he and the legal representatives of PI Debt Solutions and its owners, Piet and Ilse Janse van Vuuren, settled out of court.

He confirmed that he withdrew his application where he opposed the administration orders of these 15 people.

In Thursday’s court hearing, Marie van Hoesslin, on behalf of PI Debt Solutions, also confirmed the company’s withdrawal of applications to put the 15 applicants under administration.

Beamish thanked Magistrate Mthombeni for the way he dealt with the matter.
