According to Springs police spokesman Captain Johannes Ramphora, the two friends were partying together on Friday night at the deceased’s home.
He says the following day the suspect noticed that his cellphone was missing and went to look for it at his friend’s place.
Ramphora adds that after the suspect did not find his cellphone he stabbed his friend, who was declared dead on the scene.
“The community caught the suspect as he was trying to escape from the scene and called the police,” says Ramphora.
The suspect was arrested and a case of murder was opened.
He is expected to appear in the Springs Magistrate’s Court soon.
