Art exhibition opens in Springs

This showcases some of the best artists in Ekurhuleni

Springs Art Gallery was abuzz with activity on Saturday when the 30/30 Contemporary Group Art Exhibition was officially opened.

Zeni Tshongweni, member of Ekurhuleni Metro’s mayoral committee, officially opened the exhibition during this event at the gallery. She said art went beyond boundaries of the Ekurhuleni community and that it promoted social cohesion.

This exhibition showcases some of the best artists in Ekurhuleni.

It highlights the works of 30 emerging, mid-career and established artists who embody the diversity of the city. They vary in age, gender, social background, medium and level of recognition.

There are artworks like paintings, sculpture, photography and mixed media in this collection.

The exhibition is open until April 26, each weekday from 9am to 4pm and on Saturdays from 8am to 12 noon.
