At 10am, four well dressed armed men entered the Exact! clothing store and asked for the manager.
Springs police spokesman Captain Johannes Ramphora said they then tied the manager’s hands with cable ties and ordered the rest of the staff to lie on the ground.
“The robbers took cash and walked out of the store,” added Ramphora.
The Foschini Group (TFG), the holding company of Exact!, confirms that there was a robbery at its store in The Avenues Shopping Centre on February 25.
Cindy Matungulu spokesman for TFG said that robberies at their stores are not common occurrences and Exact! stores have excellent security to ensure the safety of staff and customers.
Matungulu added TFG was working closely with the police to ensure a full investigation and was also conducting its own internal forensic investigation into the matter.
“We cannot confirm the extent of the loss as the investigation is still underway,” she said, “We are working closely with the police and cannot confirm whether the police have made any arrests as yet.
No shots were fired.
