Watermains woes

The Advertiser recently received a complaint from Springs resident, Daya Reddy.

According to Reddy, the watermains outside of Shorborough Court has been damaged.

Upon investigation, it could be seen that the watermains was leaking a lot of water that was spewing down 2nd Avenue.

The watermains itself is flooded and, according to Reddy, is causing residents discomfort.

Reddy believes that water is more precious than gold and diamonds, and so much is being wasted.

He says that this is an ongoing problem and he believes that vandals are responsible for the damage.

Mary Oosthuizen, another resident, complained that the pipe gets fixed and a few days later it gets broken again.

Oosthuizen is also of the opinion that vandals are to blame.

According to her, the pipes were cut on the night of February 5, and residents were without water since.

At the time of going to print, no comment had been received from the metro regarding the matter.
