The Springs police was called out to the scene of the crime and arrived at Mayibuyi Street at 2:30pm on January 1.
The mother of the girl took the investigating officers to the backyard to where the girl’s body was.
According to police spokesman W/O Amanda Greybe the police found the girl naked and laying on her side, with several stab wounds to the chest and on her left hand.
“There were also several scratch marks on her body,” says W/O Greybe.
It is alleged that she was killed by her 25-year-old boyfriend from Slovo Park.
It is not sure whether the girl was raped as the police still awaits test results,” adds W/O Greybe.
The man was arrested on Friday and appeared in court on Monday.
