Krejcir allegedly connected to two arrested Hawks members

SAPS have arrested two policemen on Tuesday, November 22 in connection with Krejcir's case of alleged kidnapping and intent to commit grievous bodily harm.

Following the arrest of Radovan Krejcir and his alleged accomplice, identified as Desai Lupondo, the SAPS today, (Tuesday, November 26) also arrested two policemen linked to the same charges.

Krejcir and Lupondo were arrested on Friday, November 22, in Bedfordview.

SAPS confirms Krejcir’s arrest.

“Today, just after 8am, the SAPS arrested a 41-year-old Warrant Officer at the Germiston Organised Crime Unit in connection with Krejcir’s case of alleged kidnapping and intent to commit grievous bodily harm. The officer is a member of the Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation at the Hawks,” said Lieutenant General Solomon Makgale for the Gauteng SAPS.

The second officer arrested is a 46-year-old Warrant Officer in the Hawks.

 

He was arrested just after 1pm, also in connection with Krejcir’s case.

Both Hawks members report to Colonel Frans Steyn of the Organised Crime Unit.

“We cannot name any suspect before he appears in courtbut more arrests are expected,” said Lt Gen Makgale.

The South Gauteng High Court granted Krejcir an order on Monday to be moved to a private hospital, after the court heard that failure to do so could lead to organ failure and cardiac arrest.

Krejcir’s arrest comes as he fights battles on a number of fronts.

The SAPS are investigating him, SARS has placed his assets under its controland public outcry for his deportation is growing.

Four of Krejcir’s associates have been killed in October and November.

Veselin Laganin and Sam Issa were killed in two separate incidents in October and November, while Ronny Bvuma and Jan Charvat were killed when a bomb exploded at Krejcir’s Money Point business on November 12.

An explosion at Radovan Krejcir’s business in Bedfordview resulted in the death of Ronny Bvuma and Jan Charvat.
