It is alleged that he was involved in an argument with his daughter’s boyfriend (19) during which he shot the man and the man’s father (46).
Both men died on scene.
According to Benoni police spokesman Lieutenant Nomsa Sekele the incident took place at about 8:30pm on October 30.
“It is not yet known what the argument was about,” says Lt Sekele.
The man is facing two counts of murder but the police have not yet disclosed further information relating to the shooting incident.
He appeared in the Benoni Magristrate’s Court on Monday but the case has been postponed until tomorrow (Friday).
He was remanded in custody until his next appearance.
