DEMS’ summer safety campaign

The Disaster and Emergency Management Services (DEMS) of Ekurhuleni has once again embarked on Summer Safety Campaign to alert different communities within the City of Ekurhuleni on dangers relating to different weather patterns.

“Most emergencies such as drowning, floods, storm, lightning strikes including hail which have a devastating effect to life and properties are anticipated and DEMS is on a high alert for such challenges,” says William Ntladi, media liaison officer for Disaster and Ekurhuleni Emergency Services.

The Citizens are once again alerted to be vigilant as far as activation of the Disaster and Emergency Services Departments is concerned.

For all life threatening emergencies, individuals are encouraged  to use our paid emergency direct number which is (011) 458 0911 or toll free numbers of 10177 and 112.

The call centre as always is also ready for the high volume of calls that are expected during unusual weathers throughout the summer season.
