Strikers support arrestees

A number of Numsa members were seen sitting outside Springs Court on September 11.

Petrol attendants currently joining the National Union of Metalworkers of South Africa (Numsa) strike were seen outside Springs Court on Tuesday where they gathered in support of seven fellow strikers who appeared in court for disturbing traffic.

According to KwaThema police spokesman Captain Ntsane Ntsane they arrested seven petrol attendants on September 10 for disturbing traffic.

“It is not known yet what the outcome of the court appearance is, but if information is available, it will be made public,” says Capt Ntsane.

The strikers were quite visible in their red T-shirts.

“They just sat there peacefully waiting for news from the few that attended court,” says Captain Johannes Ramphora Springs police spokesman.
