Friends support meeting

Wedge Gardens Treatment Centre in Lyndhurst is reaching out to people who find themselves caught in an unhealthy relationship.

The substance abuse rehabilitation centre understands that the partners and loved ones of an abuser often unwittingly enable the addiction to continue.

Termed co-dependents, they live an unfulfilled life, constantly putting the needs of others before their own and thriving on being needed.

Just as an abuser needs professional treatment, a co-dependent also needs the help of an outside expert to make positive and empowering life changes.

Wedge Gardens, which is run by NPO Rand Aid Association, will holds its first support co-dependency group meeting on August 6 at 6:30pm at 2 Whitney Road, Whitney Gardens, Lyndhurst.

The Wedge Circle of Friends support group is open to anyone whose life has been affected by addiction and who feels they may benefit from support and counselling.
