Reach for your slippers

This year's Slipper Day is next Tuesday, July 30.

The Reach for your Slippers campaign is a fun initiative that raises money to make dreams come true.

This initiative started in KwaZulu-Natal in 2011 and was rolled out nationally last year when R1.3 million was raised for the Reach for a Dream foundation.

The concept is to buy a R10 sticker and wear your slippers to work, school, the shops or where ever you would like to show off your furry footwear or just to show your support for Reach for a Dream.

If you are unable to wear your slippers, then wearing your sticker with pride will be enough to allow you to take part in the campaign.

“Our objective this year is to raise R2.5 million in honour of our 25th anniversary. We want to create more awareness for Reach For A Dream and build our brand.

“We want to advertise Slipper Day on an even greater scale and create awareness so that this campaign is recognised as an annual event which every South African wants to be part of and thereby driving long term support,” says Natalie Lazaris, Reac for a Dream development manage.

Stickers are available at any Makro at R10 a sticker. The nearest Makro is on Herman Road, Meadowdale in Germiston.
