Happy days for Dawid

A bad day at the Springs Clinic caused Dawid Jacobs many tears and he even contemplated suicide, but today he is smiling from ear to ear.

Dawid needs a specialist doctor to fill in his Sassa form, in order for him to receive his disability grant.

He visited the clinic recently without the forms, which he was told by Sassa he would receive on July 16, in order for him to make an appointment to go see the doctor.

One of the nursing staff, Sister Gabby, told Dawid to return with his forms on July 16 and she will help him.

When he took the forms to the clinic on July 16, Sr Gabby was not on duty and the clinic staff refused to help him that day, telling him that he can only get an appointment in September.

According to Dawid, Sr Gabby contacted him today (July 26) and apologised for her colleagues’ behaviour.

“My appointment for September 4, has been moved forward and I am now going to see the doctor on August 7,” smiles Dawid.

His mother Hester is just as happy with the earlier date and says everyone should learn from their mistakes and that the incident should be used as an example to everybody involved.

Sassa’s Springs office spokesman Hermie Louw says they would do anything in their power to help the public and if Dawid needs assistance he should go directly to Hermie.

“Bad manners does not solve any problems,” says Hester.

The situation is now under control and Dawid is very happy with his new appointment.
