Springs police operation successful
A Springs police operation was held in the CBD yesterday (July 22) between 5am and 6pm.
During this operation 26 people were arrested for different crimes.
The crimes vary from possession of drugs, armed robbery to drunken driving.
Captain Johannes Ramphora, spokesperson for the Springs police, says the operation was successful and more operations can be expected.
“The public should know the police means business,” he adds.
The 26 will appeared in court today.
Five of the men were granted R1 000 bail.
Ramphora says they are not sure how many were given a warning by the magistrate, but others are remanded in custody in the Springs police cells.
They will appear in court again tomorrow (July 24).
My God! How can they grant bail to these monsters? An armed robber may do the same again and again. The system is really failing us.
