Views on renewing our society

We all have the ability to be tolerant

Human beings all have something in common, a value system, we believe is the truth.

Other people’s values may differ from yours, because this is something everyone will go to war for.

It is imbedded, imprinted on our whole being.

Today we are looking at tolerance and how each one has the ability to exercise it to impact our society and  the community we are living in.

The Collins Thesaurus links other words to tolerance like broad-mindedness, forbearance and patience.

I would say respect for yourself and the life of someone else is the starting point of being tolerant towards others.

It really is not doing something big, but a change of heart by granting space for someone else’s views and way they are living life, either in words or deeds.

We must also understand that we cannot force others to think and react the way you do.

South Africa has people groups with many different outlooks in life.

If we start talking to people we always ignored to understand what their value system contains, tolerance will follow.

In becoming a tolerant person, you must exercise tolerance towards yourself.

You must have tolerance with your own problems and difficulties like illness, aging and financial challenges.

This will enable you to see the suffering of those around you and you will be able to reach out.
