Armed robbery in Town

A man was robbed of the cash he withdrew from an ATM

An armed robbery was reported at the Springs Police Station on Friday (June 13).

A man parked his blue Toyota to go to Standard Bank in Sixth Street.

Captain Johannes Ramphora, Springs police spokesman, says the man allegedly noticed two men standing on the sidewalk and after drawing money at the ATM, walked passed the same two men.

He went to the boot of his car to remove his laptop, when he felt something cold and hard in his back.

“The robbers ordered him to hand over his laptop and asked for cash,” says Ramphora.

They searched him and took his laptop, cash and his cellphone and walked away.
