A case of reckless and negligent driving was opened at the Springs Police Station today.
At 7.41am, a serious accident took place on the Paul Kruger Highway.
Superintendent Vusi Mabanga, EMPD spokesman, says a man lost control of his vehicle and drove over the middleman, causing a head-on collusion with another car.
An EMPD officer on the scene says Ekurhuleni Emergency Services used the jaws of life to get the women driver out of her car.
The woman and her daughter, who was a passenger, sustained serious injuries and were taken to a nearby hospital.
The man sustained minor injuries and was also taken to a nearby hospital.
Witnesses on the scene claim the water leak on the road iced up this morning and allegedly caused the driver to loose control of his vehicle.
My car slipped yesturday on that stretch of ice… it was very scary..

I all so slip that very same morning in front of president ranch. As I came to stop a lady slipped with a Conquest and stoped in front of me. A man pooled over with a bakkie thats saw what happened. That was 6:45 when it happened. When I came past at 7:50 the road was closed and I knew it was because as the ice on the road and a accident happend. I drive past there every morning and the cause of the accident is because of a leaking pipe. I know exactly where the leak was. When n when past there today the leak was fixed. My mom and sister is at least alive. My sister is released from hospital with minor injuries. My mom is still in hospital, broke her right leg and hip and cracked her right collar bone.
