Join the bi-annual star gazing event of Wessa at the picnic area of Marievale Bird Sanctuary on May 24.
There will be a guided bird walk with Stan Madden at 4:30pm.
Braai fires will be provided for a bring and braai which will take place after the bird walk.
After the braai, from 7pm, Eastern Gauteng astronomers, Andrew Helston and Luciano Pazzi With the aid of powerful telescopes will guide you through the fascinating night skies. Their talk on astronomy will include nebulars and light years
Visitors have to bring their binoculars and torches.
There is no admission fee but a donation will be requested.
All proceeds will be used for local conservation purposes by WESSA.
A lucky draw will take place and there are prizes to be won.
