Huge tree falls in Ermelo Road
The branch of a huge tree fell into Martie Visser's premises on Thursday morning (December 19).
She says a sound woke her up at 2am, and she went to investigate.
“I saw the tree missed my house by two to three metres,” says Martie.
She had been trying to report this incident to the metro since 9am, but had not luck.
Eventually she contacted Sandra Mosgrove of Casseldale CPF who finally got hold of the metro’s parks department.
Martie adds metro workers arrived at about 10:30am and they started to cut the big branch up.
Much to Martie’s dismay, she noticed the brick fence in the front garden had been completely damaged.
“Now who is going to pay for the damage,” she asks.
According to the metro workers, another huge tree fell over in Dersley and they say it is due to the rain.
They promise the stumps will definitely be removed by the metro as well.
