Crime in brief

Crime briefs are being sent in by the Springs police.

Occupants inside a parked vehicle were robbed while waiting for someone at 6:10am on Friday, when a man stopped on the side of Industrial Road, New Era.

Springs police spokesman Captain Johannes Ramphora says the man stopped to urinate and left three occupants in the car.

“While urinating, three men approached him and told him to continue with what he was doing and not to look at the car,” he says.

The approached the vehicle and ordered its occupants to sit still, while they took a laptop, cash and also motor parts that were in the boot of the car.

They drove off in a whit Mazda 323 hatchback.

* A business robbery took place last Thursday in Bakerton.

The owner of a scrapyard was helping a client when three men entered the shop.

Capt Ramphora says one of the men was armed with a firearm and pointed it at the owner.

The robbers took cash from the owner and also robbed the customer from his cash.

No shots were fired
