Emperors opens Garden of Lights

Emperors Palace opened its annual Garden of Lights to the public last Thursday and, in continuing its 15th birthday celebrations, visitors to the garden can will their share of R15-million worth of prizes.

Guests at the official switching on ceremony were treated to beautiful dancing by the Johannesburg … before mayor Mondli Gungubele did the honours and switched on the 500km of lights which illuminate over 200 characters.

Being held for the seventh year, the Garden of Lights will once again light up the Ekurhuleni skyline until January 5.

Visitors can enjoy the spectacular lights between 7pm and 10pm daily, with thousands of colourful lights, carols and costume characters making it a not-to-be-missed festive season outing.

Guests are encouraged to make a donation of either a toy or money to support a local children’s charity.
