Market day hones learners’ entrepreneurial skills
Laerskool Werda hosted a market day event to enhance the learners' entrepreneurial skills.
Laerskool Werda hosted their annual market day event on August 30. The learners roleplayed as businessmen and businesswomen as they sold various foods and other delicious treats.
“This is their formal assessment for term three and for them to experience what it’s like to have a business of their own.
“In class, we usually focus more on theory than practical work. This is their chance to get the practical experience of managing a business,” explained Tumelo Motsemme, the EMS educator and organiser of the event.
He added that local businesses sponsored the event.
“We did this so that the learners can see how it is to work with business people,” Motsemme added.
