Schools bring magic to SPCA

The wall will take about two more weeks to complete.

The Ward 75 schools gathered to repaint the Springs SPCA’s wall on July 17. A flurry of excitement and colour filled the air when the learners and their teachers were allocated their portion of the wall to design and paint.

This initiative aligned with the ward’s outreach programme for Mandela Month.

The councillor for the ward, Charmaine de Kock, thanked the primary and high school learners and their teachers for participating in the initiative to bring the SPCA to its former beauty.

She also added words of motivation to encourage the young people to carry on doing good deeds for the organisation.

“I encourage you as the youth to give back to the SPCA. They do phenomenal work and always seek ways to help the community.”

De Kock thanked these organisations and individuals for making the project possible:
Hot Pot Paints, the Apple Tree, the Strubenvale SPCA, Johnny Mulder, Mpho Mosheledi, Vans Tyres, Meyodi Tyres, Dunoscape Sand and Stone, Golden Time Solutions, Markon River Lodge, JR McKays Engineering, the Casseldale and Strubenvale CPF, Blue Hawk Tactical, and residents of Ward 75.

A special thanks went to the learners and staff of Vukucinge Primary School, Payneville Primary School, Laerskool Werda, Olympia Park School, Laerskool Jan van Riebeeck, Hoërskool Dr Johan Jurgens, Eureka High School, Springs Technical High School, Buckingham Academy and Strubenvale Primary School.
