Far East Rand Hospital staff geared up for 2024 Comrades Marathon

As anticipation built for the 2024 Comrades Marathon, athletes from Far East Rand Regional Hospital (FERRH) have eagerly participated, aiming to leave their mark on this iconic event today.

With a team of dedicated staff members set to take on the challenge, acting CEO Dr Moloko Maphobela took a moment to convey her heartfelt wishes and support to the participants.

Addressing the hospital staff who will be representing both Far East Rand Hospital and the Gauteng Department of Health in the marathon, Maphobela emphasised the significance of their participation.

“You are not only going to represent our hospital, but your participation in the Comrades Marathon represents the Gauteng Department of Health,” she remarked, highlighting the importance of their role in showcasing the hospital’s commitment to health and wellness.

In her message, Maphobela underscored the importance of teamwork, even amidst the rigours of the race.
“Teamwork should be at the centre of your desired success,” she urged while encouraging the athletes to draw strength from one another as they embark on this challenging journey.

Maphobela commended them for their hard work and preparation for the well-known, respected and loved race.

“I applaud you for qualifying for the race as you have undoubtedly invested significant time and effort into your training.”
