Local schools compete in seven-a-side hockey
Several schools in the Far East Rand participated in the 7-a-side hockey tournament on Saturday hosted by Hoerskool Hugenote.
The U13 hockey team from Nkabinde Primary School in Kwa-Thema participated in the 7-a-side hockey tournament hosted at the Hoërskool Hugenote Astro on Saturday.
The three-week-long tournament was attended by hockey first teams in primary and high schools in the Far East Rand.
The U13 team won 1–0 against Hoërskool Oosterlig despite the loss of 2–1 against Hoërskool Hugenote.
Two players, Nhlanhla Nkosi and Ziyanda Ncongo, have been selected to join the U12 and U13 Easterns High Performance training.
This is the Eastern Gauteng provincial trials, which will begin on February 3 and last for seven weeks.
