Maintenance: Areas to have no water
The interruption will last from Sunday to Tuesday, unless the system stabilises earlier or unforeseen difficulties occur.
Rand Water has notified the CoE of scheduled maintenance work at the Zuikerbosch water treatment plant that will affect the water supply to several parts of the city from January 21 to 23, depending on how quickly the Rand Water system stabilises.
The city will provide water tankers while residents are encouraged to, in the meantime, store water for domestic purposes to mitigate the effects of the interruption.
The affected areas include:
• Leachville Proper and Extensions 1, 2 and 3, Kenleaf, Denneoord, Sunair Park, Sonneveld and Minnebron
• Dalpark (Build It, Makro)
• Duduza
• Tsakani
• Various parts of Benoni
• Vosloorus Extensions 2, 14, 25 and 28
• Most parts of Kempton Park.
The city will provide updates through its digital platforms.
