Fiona de Jager is a Vischkuil resident who has fallen in love with nature and more especially the willow tree on her plot.
“We moved in three years ago and the tree was already here,” she said.
She realised how beautiful the tree looked at sunset during winter in 2021 and decided to take a picture.
“The first time I saw it, it looked like a perfect canvas. So I decided to do this every year,” said Fiona.

When she is not planning themed parties for family and friends or making bespoke gifts, she is out in nature enjoying its calmness.
“In today’s busy life, we miss the small things. That is part of why I love taking pictures of nature. I want to capture these moments and treasure them,” she added.
Fiona said she hopes the tree will instil the same calmness that comes with being surrounded by nature.
“I intend to take the same picture, of the same tree, at the same time of year, every year,” she said.
